VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) – A Virginia Beach man was indicted on charges he abused a 3-year-old last year.
Macie Pridgen with the Virginia Beach Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office said the child’s father, Erico Sawyer, 29, was indicted on charges of malicious wounding and child cruelty/abuse/neglect Monday.
In September, Sawyer was arrested after the child was taken to the Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters with possible life-threatening injuries. Further information on the case was not released.
A next court date of May 27 was scheduled.
