LITCHFIELD — A 19-year-old Torrington father is being held on charges that he beat his infant son nearly to death.
The injuries, classified by police and doctors as "shaken baby syndrome," happened over a long enough period of time for some of the injuries to heal. Newer wounds replaced older ones, including bleeding noted beneath the 3-month-old child's skull in May.
