CARSON CITY, Nev. -- Parole has been revoked for a 56-year-old Nevada man convicted of killing his 10-month-old daughter, burning the body and burying it in the Arizona desert in 1990.

James Meegan told state parole commissioners that his arrest in May after an argument with his mother at her home in Anaheim, Calif., was a fluke that never would happen again.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports (http://bit.ly/1ctYNsv ) that Parole Commissioner Susan Jackson responded that Meegan knew he was on parole, and there should have been no altercation at all.

Meegan will spend at least the next two years in prison before he's allowed to seek parole again.

He was paroled in February 2011 after serving about 15 years of a 10 years to life in sentence for the murder of his daughter, Francine.

Father accused of raping and killing his son in Turkish Cyprus given life sentence

NICOSIA - Radikal

A Turkish Cypriot court handed down a life sentence Aug. 6 to a father accused of raping and killing his 7-year-old son in the verdict hearing of a case that deeply shocked the northern part of the Mediterranean island.

Erol Diker was arrested last year after the body of his son Mustafa Diker was found in a village near the Beşparmak mountain range. The investigation showed evidence that Mustafa Diker had been raped by his father, who had personally reported him missing in the first place. Mustafa Diker's stepmother and uncle had already been sentenced to five years each for complicity in the murder.

The court found Erol Diker guilty of 12 charges including rape, child abuse, incest, torture and murder.

The chief justice said during the verdict that the trial had seriously affected Turkish Cypriot society. Tight security measures had been taken around the courthouse in Nicosia ahead of the verdict due to lynch attempts by mobs at previous hearings.

Butler man charged with sexually assaulting daughter

Man allegedly grabbed daughter's breasts

By Steve Garrison
Posted: Aug. 6, 2013

A 38-year-old Butler man was charged Thursday, July 8, with first-degree sexual assault of a child, allegedly groping his 11-year-old daughter.

According to the criminal complaint, the girl's mother contacted Village of Pewaukee Police on July 26 to report the father's behavior. The mother, a Pewaukee resident, told police that she had seen the girl's father inappropriately touch her daughter's breast on at least one occasion.

The girl told investigators that she did not have a good relationship with her father, but recently he had begun treating her like her mother. He requested that she take meals to him in his room and had laid his head down on her chest.

She said that her father had grabbed her breasts on several occasions, beginning in 2012 when she was in fifth grade. He had also grabbed her buttocks on one occasion and would walk in on her when she was in the shower or changing in her room, the complaint said.

The man, who will not be named to protect the victim, could face 60 years in prison if convicted. He posted a $2,500 cash bail at an initial appearance Aug. 1. He is next expected to appear in court on Aug. 14.

Vic father avoids jail for shaking baby

Thursday, August 08, 2013 » 05:43pm

A Melbourne father who lost control and shook his newborn baby has avoided jail.

The father was 18 when he shook the baby boy on three separate occasions in 2011.

One of the episodes left the baby, who was aged about one month, in need of hospital treatment.

Sentencing the father on Thursday, Victorian County Court Judge Jane Patrick said his offending was serious.

'Your son was a few weeks old and very vulnerable,' she said. 'You ought to have been protecting him, but instead you lost control of your own behaviour and shook him.'

The baby suffered injuries to his brain and leg, but does not appear to have any developmental problems.

Judge Patrick said she accepted the situation was stressful for the young father.

She said she took into account the fact the father had depression, a mood disorder and acquired brain injury.

The man's young age was also a significant sentencing consideration and jail would be counterproductive to his rehabilitation, Judge Patrick said.

The father pleaded guilty to two counts of reckless conduct endangering life and one count of recklessly causing serious injury.

Judge Patrick placed the father on a community correction order that includes 100 hours unpaid community work.

Father who threw daughter sentenced Man gets 11½ years for first-degree assault

Poughkeepsie Journal

Relatives of the victim gasped and grasped their mouths, as a father who admitted he threw his infant daughter against the wall of his Beacon home was sentenced to 11 ½ years in prison.

David M. Nichols, 29, was sentenced Wednesday in Dutchess County Court.

He pleaded guilty to first-degree assault, a felony, in May for throwing his 3-month-old daughter into a wall Oct. 1, fracturing her skull and causing bleeding around her brain.

“I don’t accept the excuse that you were frustrated,” Judge Stephen Greller said to Nichols, prior to sentencing. “I find this extremely unsettling… That baby was placed at serious risk of death.”

At the time of the incident, Nichols had recently lost his job at the Home Depot and was suffering from sleep deprivation, said John Evans, of the Dutchess County Public Defender’s Office, who represented Nichols in court.

Evans said his client was stressed about his monthly bills, including his mortgage and payments on two cars.

“Mr. Nichols has no prior contact with the criminal justice system,” Evans said. “He’s always wanted to resolve this case. He absolutely had a bad moment, but it is not who Mr. Nichols is.”

The Dutchess County District Attorney’s Office disagreed with that.

Addressing the court, Assistant District Attorney Marjorie Smith said, “It is apparent from the facts of this case that this is not an isolated incident.”

Prosecutors say Nichols previously shook the infant, leaving the 3-month-old with multiple rib fractures, according to court records.

Nichols was sentenced to 11 ½ years in state prison, plus five years post-release supervision. Greller issued an order of protection for the child until 2033 and ordered Nichols to comply with an order in the amount of $11,337, to cover the cost of unpaid hospital bills.

The injured child is expected to make a full recovery, without long-term physical effects.

Man held for raping minor daughter
TNN | Aug 9, 2013, 02.25 AM IST

BANGALORE: Byatarayanapura police on Thursday arrested a 45-year-old autorickshaw driver for allegedly raping his minor daughter. She delivered a baby boy on Thursday and in her police statement, she named her father as the culprit.

The duo was sent for medical tests in the evening and the mother and child were shifted to an undisclosed location, police said. The auto driver is a father of three kids, including a son, and the victim is his second daughter.

According to police, the accused raped his daughter when his wife went out for work. "The victim had discontinued her studies and stayed at home. The mother said she had no idea of what was going on at home in her absence," police said.

The victim told police: "My father threatened to beat my mother and the other children if I told anyone about it."

The mother saw the physical change in her daughter and took her to a doctor a few months ago. "Initially they said it was a case of gastric complaint. By the time doctors' came up with the right diagnosis, she was more than five months pregnant and abortion was not possible," a family member told police.

Check out the excuses for violent dad SANJAY. He was drunk, he was "depressed" because his wife "left him." That's why he tried to chop of the head of his 8-year-old son with a kitchen knife.

Total rubbish.

How much you want to bet that his wife didn't "leave" him per se, but was driven out of the home by this violent alcoholic lunatic to save her own life. That is, IF she is alive. Do we know that for a fact?

Or do we just assume this sh**head's story is true?

An eight-year-old boy was attacked by his father in drunken rage at their north Delhi residence on Thursday morning, the police said.

Identified as Sachin, the victim stays alone with his father, Sanjay, in Burari ever since his mother left him three months ago.

“Around 11 am, Sanjay, who was heavily drunk and has been suffering from depression ever since his wife walked out and left him to take care of Sachin on his own, attacked Sachin with a kitchen knife,” said an officer.

According to the police, Sanjay hacked at Sachin’s throat with the knife in a bid to chop off his neck but could not succeed given his drunken state.

When his neighbours rushed to the child’s aid after hearing his screams, Sanjay, fearing for his own life, consumed a vial of acid. The police were informed and a team rushed the father and son to the Sushruta Trauma Centre.

“Sachin was admitted with severe injuries to his neck. Thankfully, only a few mild gashes were inflicted on his neck. He is stable. His father, meanwhile, is unconscious but out of danger,” the officer said.

Enquiries made from the victim’s neighbours revealed that Sanjay had been suffering from depression for months and was given to heavy drinking which would usually begin early in the day. “We have registered a case of attempt to murder against Sanjay and arreste him after he is discharged from the hospital to arrest him,” the officer added.

Livermore Father Charged With Murdering Infant Son

August 9, 2013 12:16 PM

LIVERMORE (CBS SF) – A 26-year-old Livermore man has been charged with murdering his 6-month-old baby boy, an Alameda County sheriff’s spokesman said Friday.

Deputies responded to the 2400 block of Buena Vista Avenue in unincorporated Livermore on July 29 after receiving a report of an unresponsive infant and transported the boy to ValleyCare Medical Center in Pleasanton, Sgt. J.D. Nelson said.

Because of the extent of his internal head injuries, the infant was transferred to the University of California San Francisco Medical Center, where he was placed in the pediatric intensive care unit, Nelson said.

Doctors then notified law enforcement officials that the baby suffered from head trauma, according to Nelson.

The baby boy was pronounced dead Aug. 1.

Nelson said sheriff’s investigators determined that the boy’s father, Robert Daily III, was responsible for the trauma he suffered.

The case was submitted to the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office, which has charged Daily with murder and one count child abuse causing death, Nelson said.

Daily was arrested by Livermore police in the 2100 block of Paseo Laguna Seco on Thursday, according to Nelson.

He said Daily attempted to evade police as they approached the vehicle he was hiding in but he ultimately surrendered and was taken into custody safely after a brief chase.

Daily is being held at the Santa Rita Jail in Dublin without bail, Nelson said.

Daily, a construction worker, is scheduled to be arraigned Monday, according to court records.

This is very ambiguous. What do we mean that the baby was "in this father's custody"? That the mother was out shopping or working while Daddy was playing caretaker? Or that this father had full legal custody? Your guess until we see a clarifying article.

Needless to say, there is not one word about the mother or what happened to her. Or how this poor newborn ended up in the hands of his alleged killer dad and not in the loving hands of mother.

Shades of JOSH POWELL--the Utah dad who also killed his two kids during supervised visitation.

This is absolutely sickening...and it was totally preventable. This is a perfect example of why I think supervised visitation is a joke. You're are either safe...or you're not. IF YOU HAVE THREATENED TO KILL SOMEBODY BEFORE, YOU ARE NOT SAFE!!

Why is this so hard for these freaking morons in authority to figure out? All I can figure is that these morons don't care, they're just interested in catering to vicious and violent fathers. So then have the freaking nerve to act stupid after the fact, AFTER somebody is dead, and then they claim they had no idea. Bullsh**.

You know how this child could have been kept safe? Cut off all of Daddy's access. No access, no murder. If you threaten to kill somebody, you're done. No more catering, no more crap. This is what the fathers rights people have given us. By giving all those poor daddies more and more favors, they just terrorize more and up the ante.

Father kills son, 9, and himself at New Hampshire YWCA, authorities say

By Elisha Fieldstadt, NBC News

A man shot his 9-year-old son to death and then killed himself at a YWCA in New Hampshire on Sunday morning, officials said.

Police got a call about 10 a.m. that a gunman was inside the New Hampshire YWCA building in Manchester, police Lt. Maureen Tessier said. More people called the police later reporting shots fired, she said.

When officers arrived, they searched the building and found two bodies in a supervised parental visitation room at the center, according to the New Hampshire attorney general’s office.

New Hampshire Senior Assistant Attorney General Jeffery A. Strelzin identified the father as Muni Savyon, 54, and his son as Joshua Savyon, 9.

Sayvon shot his son with a handgun halfway through an hour-long supervised visit at the YWCA, then turned the gun on himself, according to the attorney general's office.

The supervising counselor fled the room unharmed, according to the attorney general.

Tessier said police searched the building and found no further threats and no one else injured.

Rabbi Levi Krinsky of the Manchester Chabad-Lubavich synongogue told NBC News that Savyon and his son “came to a lot of the events that we do.” He said Savyon had been part of the Orthodox congregation in Manchester for more than five years, and he considered Savyon a friend.

He was a “very quiet person, very reserved,” Krinsky said. He said that Savyon recently returned from a trip to Israel, where his brother had died unexpectedly from a heart attack.

“He was very upset and depressed,” Krinsky said, but “we didn’t know he was capable of that. If we did, we would have stepped in.”

According to the attorney general's office, Manchester police detectives have discovered that Savyon made threats in the past "to kill himself, his son’s mother and their son.”

Krinsky said Savyon and his wife were separated. Joshua was their only child, and both parents used services offered by the YWCA, Krinsky said.

The national YWCA said on Twitter that it was aware of the incident but did not respond to a request for further comment.

Trial for custodial dad, girlfriend charged in death of 3-year-old boy rescheduled for November (Martinsburg, West Viriginia)

We've been reporting on this case since it first broke, and I have yet to see any explanation as to how this violent father gained custody of this child or who gave it to him

And what happened to this boy's mother? It's clear from the ongoing history of abuse against this boy that he was not subject to a back-and-forth joint custody deal.

Whenever an obviously abusive man gains custody of a little boy, only to kill him, you have to wonder what happened to the mother. Especially if she has been erased from the story. Is she alive? Was she driven out of the home by threats of violence? Is she dead? If so, do we know for a fact that it was from natural causes? Has she "disappeared"? In too many cases, that just means that Daddy hid the body well. Child killing daddies are usually abusive to their partners as well, so it's important for reporters to ask these questions.

Trial for W.Va. couple charged in toddler's death rescheduled for Nov.

August 08, 2013|By MATTHEW UMSTEAD

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — The trial for two people charged in the 2012 New Year’s Day death of a 3-year-old boy has been rescheduled for Nov. 4 after one of the defendants was determined to have regained competency at a state psychiatric hospital.

James N. Mauldin, 21, and Jasmine K. Dawkins, 24, were indicted in May 2012 in Berkeley County Circuit Court on single counts of death of a child by parent, guardian and/or custodian by child abuse, two counts of gross child neglect creating substantial risk of serious bodily injury and single counts of presentation of false information regarding a child’s injuries in the death of Kaiwon Connelly.

Mauldin, who is the boy’s father, also was indicted on one count of child abuse causing serious bodily and malicious assault.

Mauldin was taken to William R. Sharpe Jr. Hospital in Weston, W.Va., for treatment earlier this year after he was found not to be competent to stand trial, according to court documents.

“It was a (medication-related) issue,” Berkeley County Prosecuting Attorney Pamela Games-Neely said Thursday after the new trial date was scheduled by presiding 23rd Judicial Circuit Judge John C. Yoder.

Defense attorney Christopher Prezioso notified the court in March that Mauldin’s mental competency became a concern following the defendant’s behavior at a related abuse and neglect hearing, according to court documents.

The couple’s trial was originally scheduled for Dec. 10, 2012, but was then rescheduled for April 1, 2013, to give experts time to evaluate one of the defendants and review the abuse and neglect case.

Police allege that Dawkins knowingly allowed Mauldin to inflict injuries on the boy that led to the boy’s death. Both are accused of failing to seek medical care for burns on the child’s buttocks and legs, and after knowing that Mauldin struck the boy in the head, according to the indictment.

The indictment alleges the couple also falsely stated to authorities that Kaiwon fell and struck his head, causing the injuries.

Dawkins, whose address on her indictment was listed as Pinewood Drive in Waldorf, Md., is not the boy’s biological mother, authorities have said.

Kaiwon had multiple head injuries, including a fractured skull and brain bleeds, police have said.

Dawkins told police the injuries were the result of Mauldin punching the boy several times a few days before the boy was hospitalized.

The boy died at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, D.C., police said.

Dawkins told police she did not report Mauldin’s alleged mistreatment of his son, because she was afraid of being abused herself, court documents said.

According to police, Amber Stewart was released from the hospital early and said when she went to pick up the child, there was no answer at McCall's home.

Amber Stewart said she found the girl with a dirty diaper, severe diaper rash and unresponsive. Doctors haven't said what happened to the child.

Six year old abused, father arrested

By Express News Service - COIMBATORE 10th August 2013 08:25 AM

In yet another incident of a minor child falling prey to sexual abuse, a 30-year-old man was arrested here on Thursday for allegedly sexually harassing his six-year-old daughter in Mettupalayam.

According to police sources, the accused A Mahendran (30), a daily wage earner and a resident of Thiruvalluvar Nagar on Bharat Bhavan Road in Mettupalayam, had had a quarrel with his wife Dhanabakkiam (29) a month ago over some matter.

After the quarrel, Dhanabakkiam had left the house and had been living separately on Dasampalayam Road in Mettupalayam.

However, the couple’s children were staying with Mahendran at his house in Mettupalayam.

Recently, the children came to their mother’s house. Meanwhile, at the house while bathing, the six-year-old girl told her mother that she was experiencing pain in her private parts.

Following this, Dhanabakkiam, took the girl to a doctor. After examining the girl, the doctor told Dhanabakkiam that her daughter had been sexually harassed.

Upon learning this, the girl’s mother questioned her. The girl told her about Mahendran’s behaviour. Shocked by this, Dhanabakkiam lodged a complaint with the police against her husband.

According to police, “Mahendran could have sexually harassed his daughter between July 29 and August 5.”

Based on a complaint from Dhanabakkiam, Thudiyalur All Women Police (AWPS) registered a case against Mahendran under section 3 (b) of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act of 2012.

Police arrested Mahendran on Thursday. Further investigations are on.

Father charged with killing 3-month-old son

Updated: Monday, August 12 2013, 03:31 PM EDT

FORT EDWARD -- A 30-year-old Fort Edward man has been charged with killing his infant son.

According to Fort Edward Police, 3-month-old Brett King was brought to Glens Falls Hospital on Sunday afternoon by his mother and father with life-threatening injuries. The boy was immediately flown to Albany Med because of the extent of his injuries but died shortly after. The exact cause of death is unknown at this time. The alleged incident happened at 25 Lydius Street in Fort Edward sometime early Sunday afternoon.

Fort Edward Police charged the boys father, 30-year-old Kevin Wayne King, with second degree murder and first degree manslaughter. According to court papers, King picked up his son by the torso, shook him and threw him onto the ground because he was upset that the baby was crying while he played video games. Police say when they questioned King about what happened to his son, his account of what happened didn't match up with the boys injuries. After he provided several false accounts, police say he confessed.

The boys mother, who remains unidentified at this time, was not home when the child was fatally injured. Police say she had gone out to run errands and, when she returned home, saw that something was wrong with the child and immediately took him to the hospital.

The couple do no have any other children together but both have children from previous relationships that live in that Lydius Street home. None of those children were home at the time of the alleged incident.

King was arraigned and remanded to Washington County Jail without bail.

An autopsy is being performed on the baby to determine an exact cause of death.

This case describes the abuser family pathology to the nth degree.

After loading up their family car with weapons, binoculars, restraints, an electric shock device, gas cans and a shovel, the Matusiewicz family allegedly all conspired to kill a Delaware woman who had married into their family

The recently unsealed federal indictment gives harrowing details about the family’s cyber-stalking and alleged conspiracy to kill their former in-law Christine Belford.

The murderous plan was put into motion when Thomas Matusiewicz drove from Edcouch to a Delaware courthouse where he shot and killed Belford, his son David’s ex-wife, just before she walked into the courtroom to fight for custody of her children.

Matusiewicz’s wife, Lenore Matusiewicz, his son, David Matusiewicz, and his daughter Amy Gonzalez had all denied any prior knowledge that the murder was going to take place.

But late last week, a federal grand jury in Delaware has indicted Lenore, David and Amy on four charges including cyber stalking, interstate stalking and conspiracy.

Federal agents arrested Lenore Matusiewicz and Amy Gonzalez in Hidalgo County late last week.

They are facing extradition to Delaware but the now-unsealed federal indictment gives harrowing details about the family’s conspiracy to kill David Matusiewicz’s ex-wife.

MOTIVE

Thomas Matusiewicz, shot his daughter in-law multiple times in the chest, killing her and one of her friend's in the lobby of a courthouse back in Delaware back in February.

Optometrist David Matusiewicz allegedly wanted custody of his children, who resided with their mother in Wilminton, Del.

The Matusiewicz family spent years stalking Belford before she was murdered, according to court documents.

MARRIAGE HISTORY

David Matusiewicz and Christine Belford were married for five years and had three children.

During the their divorce they fought for custody of the three girls.

Belford and David Matusiewicz were given joint custody of the three girls, which is when David Matusiewicz and his mother, Lenore Matusiewicz kidnapped the girls and fled the U.S.

Two years after the kidnapping, U.S. federal law enforcement agents located Lenore Matusiewicz and the three girls in Nicaragua.

The children were then reunited with their mother and lived with her in Delaware, about 1,500 miles from the Rio Grande Valley.

David Matusiewicz and his mother were imprisoned for their part in the kidnapping.

In 2011, David Matusiewicz’s parental rights were terminated even though he accused his ex-wife of sexually abusing the children.

FAMILY CONSPIRACY

David Matusiewicz spent a few years in prison.

He was then released to a halfway house and was under the supervision of a South Texas parole officer.

But according to the new federal indictment, he conspired with his family with the intent to kill his ex-wife, once released.

The family waged a campaign to ruin Christine’s reputation using social media, websites and YouTube, according to court documents.

The Matusiewicz family allegedly recruited people to stalk Belford and watch the children.

Some of the recruits allegedly provided license plate numbers and took photos of Belford’s home.

FALSE WEBSITE

Their mother Lenore Matusiewicz began publishing a webpage entitled, “A grandmother’s impossible choice and a father’s willingness to risk everything in order to rescue his three little girls.”

On the webpage were false claims about Belford including allegations of parental neglect and sexual abuse made by David Matusiewicz, according to the indictment.

Lenore Matusiewicz alleged that Belford wanted her son for his money.

The family then attempted to locate Barbra Walters and contact CNN in efforts to get a story out about their struggle for custody of the children.

The family then allegedly uploaded videos to YouTube entitles “Don’t Hurt Me Mommy” and “Another Unresolved Delaware Child Abuse Case.”

This was an attempt for word to be spread about the “true history” of the case, according to court documents.

SMEAR CAMPAIGN

The family then wrote to Belford’s church claiming she was sexually molesting her children, according to court documents.

The family recruited people to send photos of the children from Belford’s Facebook profile via email, according to the documents.

The Matusiewicz family obtained the real-estate listing including photos of inside her home and the children’s bedrooms of Belford’s home.

David Matusiewicz allegedly sent an email claiming he was the “First doc in the family and the first felon” and he was looking forward to his next battle in efforts to get his “daughters from their abusive mother.”

A woman then helped David Matusiewicz gain access to Belford’s personal Facebook profile and had multiple people checking out her house.

David Matusiewicz then left a note to his daughter Amy.

On the note, “Hopefully we can end this BS now-up to Dave,” was written, according to the indictment.

MURDER

In an email, David Matusiewicz and his mother said Belford was “scum and will always be…,” according to court documents.

Before David Matusiewicz left the Edcouch home, Amy was left with veteran funeral arrangements and a booklet on federal benefits for veterans.

A letter was allegedly left behind for Amy Gonzalez that said, “All my guns take them/protect them… they will be your only freedom in the coming years under what was once my gov’t. When gov’t takes your grandchildren away it ceases then being your gov’t.”

The Matusiewicz family then allegedly loaded up Honda CRV and a Honda Civic with photographs of Christine’s Belford’s children and residence, ammunition, a military style knife, a bullet proof vest and other items.

Before the murder, the Matusiewicz family visited family in New Jersey, according to court documents.

The next day, David Matusiewicz parked the Honda CRV in a parking garage of a hotel in downtown Wilmington.

David Matusiewicz’s and his father then entered the lobby where they stood in line for security screening, according to the documents.

Christine Belford and her friend entered the courthouse’s outer lobby.

Belford was then allegedly shot and killed.

Belford’s once sister-in-law made a request for custody of the three girls and sent a check to family court dated two days after the murder.

EXTRADITION

Federal agents arrested Lenore Matusiewicz and Amy Gonzalez in Hidalgo County late last week.

Their case has been assigned to U.S. Magistrate Judge Peter E. Ormsby in McAllen.

The two Edcouch women now face extradition to Delware where a federal jury will decide their fate.

Family annihilator dads like FRANCIS ADOLF are typically narcissistic control freaks who see other family members as extensions of themselves. Often they have threatened to kill before. Apparently somebody was worried enough to call the police for a wellness check.

Mom, Dad, 6-Year-Old Son Found Dead
By Dan Stamm and David Chang | Tuesday, Aug 13, 2013 | Updated 9:29 PM EDTView

A mother, father and the couple's 6-year-old son died today in what investigators are calling a murder-suicide inside a South Jersey home.

Officials got a phone call and came to the home on Kenton Avenue in Pitman, N.J., Tuesday morning to check on the well-being of the family living there. When they arrived, they found the bodies of Francis Adolf, 49, his wife, Bonnie Lynn Adolf, 44 and their son, Frank Adolf, Jr., who was just shy of his 7th birthday.

Pitman Mayor, Russ Johnson III lives in the neighborhood and said people are surprised and upset.

"Shocked. Sad. This is my neighborhood. This is my town," said Johnson. "Just very sad for the family."

Weisenfeld said investigators determined it was a murder-suicide based on both handwritten and email messages written by the father. According to detectives, Francis Adolf indicated in the messages that he would harm himself, his wife and son.

Neighbors told NBC 10 Philadelphia's Doug Shimell that the son was about to enter the 2nd grade at Memorial Elementary School in Pitman.

Mayor Johnson said his son and the 6-year-old victim were classmates.

"I don't know how you explain to a 7-year-old what could possibly happen. You've got to do your best as parents but I don't know how I can possibly explain it to my kid -- to any of those kids in that school," Johnson said.

The school sent a statement out to parents, saying that Frankie Jr. died in a tragic incident.

"Everyone here in the distrct -- especially those within the Memorial School community -- is heartbroken about the loss of Frankie. We extend our sympathy to all of Frankie's family and friends, a nd to the wider community of Pitman, on this very sad day."

Investigators will talk about how the three died after their autopsies are done tomorrow. Meanwhile, neighbors are wondering if there were warning signs that they missed.

"It's such a shame that something wasn't seen or detected before it got to this," said Jeanne Ewe.

Pitman is a town of about 9,000 residents located in Gloucester County, about 15 miles south of Center City Philadelphia.

This is what happens when violent fathers like UNNAMED DAD are granted custody/visitation. It just puts mothers and children at risk. Daddy had just spent a whole month with the daughter, but that wasn't enough control. His idea of more control: Shooting her to death, and Mom too.

Man allegedly kills wife and child, in critical condition after turning gun on himself

A man suspected of shooting his estranged wife and 5-year-old daughter to death inside a Little Village home early Tuesday remained in critical condition after he turned the gun on himself, police said.

Officers discovered the family at the single-story home in the 2800 block of South Kildare about 12:15 a.m., finding 28-year-old Kelly Coca and her daughter, Karla Eguez, each with a gunshot wound to the head, authorities said. The 27-year-old husband and father was also found in the house with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head, police said.

Neighbors reported hearing arguing coming from the home, shortly before hearing gunshots, a law enforcement source said. Coca and her daughter had just returned to their home on Kildare after a trip to Miami, where her estranged husband lives, the source said. Carla had spent a month with her father, the source said.

Coca and her daughter were dead at the scene, according to the Chicago Fire Department. The 27-year-old man, whose name was not released, was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, police said.

In January 2011, Coca was the alleged victim of a domestic battery. The Florida man charged with the crime allegedly performed a leg lock on her, dragged her from her room and began punching her head. He then allegedly bit her on the right hand, causing her to bleed.

The man, who records indicate was enlisted in the U.S. Army, was arrested and held in lieu of $10,000 bail. The charges were later dropped.

Nohemi Cossio, who identified herself as Coca’s cousin, said Coca was happy to be building a new life in the United States, after moving here from her native Bolivia.

“I want people to remember my cousin, remember how eager she was to live life and progress in this country,” Cossio said. “She came here four years ago, and she was doing very good for herself and her daughter.”

Karla Eguez was about to start kindergarten at Epiphany Catholic School, where she attended a pre-K program last year. Scott Ernst, the principal there, said she the staff remember her as “ a great student, a happy student. Obviously we’re grieving, and our hearts go out to the family,” he said. “It’s been tough for the entire community.”

Cossio said Karla was a happy, loving child. “She would run up to everyone and hug them. She was always so happy,” Cossio said.

“She wanted to grow up to be just like her mother.”

Coca worked for Swisher Hygiene. A company van was parked across the street from her home Tuesday morning.

“We are incredibly saddened to hear about this tragic news,” the company said in a statement. “Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and all that have been affected by this senseless tragedy. Kelly was a model employee and she will surely be missed.”
